I have the Dörfler Die 9. Panzer-Division: Bewaffning Einsätze Männer. Many pictures, very little text. I was hoping for his older text providing more textual information. But you are saying this is not the case?

68 Kriegsmonate - 9. Panzer-Division

I'm interested in buying 68 Kriegsmonate - 9. Panzer-Division by Carl Hans Hermann.

Another option would be to have an owner of this book helping me out to do some research.

Thanks.

Infantry outfit with the s PzAbt 501 in Tunisia

On 1 December 1942, elements of schwere Panzer-Abteilung 501 attacked the British/American positions near Djedeida, Tunisia. This was mostly an tank vs tank fight, but according to some sources the German tanks were accompanied by some infantry. Which outfit provided the infantry support? When googl...

Thanks Martin and others for a very interesting read. So with no StuGs in late July 1944 I guess it safe to assume that the division had no AFVs whatsoever? Or were PSWs issued to the Infantry Divisions at this stage of the war? How and when did the Division receive the Italian 75mm and Russian 76mm...

Maybe someone with knowledge on how a typical German infantry division set up during this time were equipped could make an educated guess?

I've just read the new Glantz book Red Storm over the Balkans: The Failed Soviet Invasion of Romania, Spring 1944, but I can't recall seeing any reference to any Sturmpanzer units. I think I would have, if there were any.

1944 73. Infanterie-Division equipment

I'm trying to find out how the 73rd Infantry Division was equipped in terms of heavy weapons and AFVs after its reconstitution in mid-1944. I guess it was suppose to be a "Type 44" infantry division and thus equipped with a company (?) of StuG/Hetzers. Was this the case? Maybe there's a 9....

Bacyk's book on the Praga battles cites a report from General Radzjijevskij's (2nd TA commander) staff. According to this report, the 5th separate motorcycle regiment had 10 Valentine IX on 27 Juli 1944. http://rkkaww2.armchairgeneral.com/weapons/LL2.htm also lists a number of non-Cavalry outfits, i...

I believe the Valentines belonged to the Russian 5th Separate Motorcycle Regiment.

2nd Tank Army Valentines in Poland -44

In the beginning of August 1944 elements of SS Wiking, SS Totenkopf, 19 PzD and 4 PzD counter-attacked 2nd Tank Army just east of Warsaw. During this battle, the 2nd TA lost a number of British-made Valentine tanks. My question is: who knocked out these tanks? When? Where? I've tried to go through t...

OK. Interesting.

The battlefield.ru documents on lend-lease contained no information regarding Bazookas, as far as I could see.

What is your source? How many did they received? And where/how were they used?
