Thanks John for your reply. 242nd ID seems the best fit as I found out that G.R. 765 was garrisoned at Le Muy.

I have been researching my Grandfather's service history with C Company, 4th Parachute Battalion, 2nd Independent Parachute Brigade. does athen mean athens and is 103 zweigpark an address or a unit name? if its a unit name then what does it mean

reserve units

trying to learn more about the role of reserve units of the heer. if a unit was called reserve flak abteilung, for example, was that uint an ersatz unit that supplied replacements or was it simply a second line unit that was allocated guard and security duties?
