Dear David

They are utterly fantastic books and well worth the cash. I'd highly recommend then too - what have you already got?

This is a modern day map. The double barreled name in the map above is NeiBe-Malxtal

That is an excellent site, however unless I missed it doesn't have any German sources for srengths during the combat agains Combat Command C. US sources say 30 tanks north (10 Pz) and 30 tanks south (21Pz) but such battlefield estimates are notoriously inaccurate

10 Panzer Division Sidi Bou Zid 14th/15th Feb 43

Gents

Can anyone tell me where the sub-units of the 10th division were deployed around Sidi bou Zid on these dates please? If tank strengths are available that would be of interest too.

Sames for 21st Panzer.

Thanks

Dear Karmen

I beg to differ on this. The Germans re-bored captured Russian 76mm FlaK to 8.8cm, so there is a such a thing as a 8.8cm Russian gun.

I'm not saying 21st Pz had any though. :-)

Dear Paul Well it is a modern map - perhaps Marino was levelled in the war and never rebuilt? Katukov's memiors mention both the 27th and 28th Tank Brigades as protecting his RIGHT flank. Between them they had enough T-34 to make "20-25" tanks But Marino is to the left for Skirmanevo (look...

Dear Paul I Have a Russian 1:100000th map of the area. There is a town starting with M to the east of Skirmanevo, but its over a kilometer away and the approach route to it would be entirely different to that to Skirmanevo, assuming Ive identified Katukov's forming up point correctly on the map Now ...

Russian accounts - specificall Katukov's memoirs say the Russian tanks attacked Skirmonovo not Morino though

10th Panzer Division at Skirmanovo 13th & 14th November

Gents On the 13th/14th Novemeber 1941 south of Novopetrovskoe at the villiage of Skirmanovo the newly re-named 1st Guards Tank Brigade clashed with elements of the 10th Panzer Division. Does anyone know which elements of the 10th were involved in the battle? What was their tank strength? If anyone h...
