If a New Zealander of German descent, joined the German army in WW2, he would be classed as a New Zealand volunteer.

The main problems suffered in the war by the Russians was the The power and interferenace by the communist party in all levels of the military. Micro management at its worst. Also the mass arrest and destruction of the Russian officers before the war. Made worse by major arrests of officers during t...

In a way everyone had successful superweapons.

All powers ended out fighting the war with equipment far better then anyone had at the start of the war.

For example in 1939 a B-29 was a superweapon as would be an 88mm Flak 41.

The Migs over Korea were an improvement over the Me-262 and were available in large quantities. Yet although driven out in daylight, the B-29 did make a fight over Korea. Overall the German radar coverage would probably be better then the Koreans. The Allied counter measures to some extent did help....

Effective range of coastal artillery

In 1941 the SKL/45 guns effective range is 34000m and it is a coastal gun. Some of the others in this model could fire effectively up to 42000m. Yet German long-range artillery along the Channel never hit a single ship. They had nearly three years of trying, and they fired with great regularity. Not...

A high number of experten survived yet very few of the German pilots that came in 1944 survived the war. Suggests that it was not the machines or methods but something else that caused the problem. I suggest training. The British have a lovely expression to describe badly trained people in combat *c...

Democracies find it hard to suddenly stop fighting. Before Hitler attacked Russia, the UK did not agree to a ceasefire with Germany even though the US was not in the war. Even though almost all *inteligent* people thought that she should. Before the battle of Moscow, when it looked to the UK and the...

To make this scenario work you would need to imagine that Russia and Germany made peace say in 1942 or maybe 1943. German resources would then be mainly committed against the West. As far as whether there would be enough atomic bombs in 1946. The answer is yes. By 1946 production rates of atomic bom...

German planes thoughout the war were roughly as good as the Allies. The problem was pilots. Partly this was deliberate as Hitler attitude was that if the war continued in the long term, he would lose. In this he was right! So he never concerned himself with the long term but only the short term. Pil...

Airwar over Germany 1946

This is how the airwar over Germany might proceed if the war would continue into 1946. The development of the Me-262 night-fighter jets would proceed. The B-29's would replace the Lancaster's and Halifax's over Germany, partly as they were a more rugged machine, better defensive firepower would be m...

Airwar over Germany 1946

The development of the Me-262 night-fighter jets would probably drive out the Lancaster's and Halifax's at night. They would be replaced by B-29's. The B-29's was a rugged machine whose defensive firepower would be somewhat effective at night. A few nuclear armed B-29 would move in fleets at night p...
