hello,
What type of combat badge would an SS infantry trooper in an armored reconaissance unit be eligible to recieve? General, Infantry or Tank? I appreciate any information available on this.

hi, yes I've read the Feldgrau bio for the 5th, I've also heard of the massacre at Dachau. I'm sure there were situations in those final days of the war where units became separated from one another. Some may have run into the Russians while others surrendered to the Americans. http://www.feldgrau.c...

question about Waffen SS units in Italy
hello,
I am trying to find out which Waffen SS units served in Italy during the last year of the war. I know of the 16th Reichsfuhrer-SS Division, were there others? If so, does anyone know the dates and places? I appreciate any help offered.
thanks,
Fox

STG44's
I saw a photo of Ethiopian guerillas in the 1970's, one had an STG44, the guy next to him had an American M-14. I suspect there are a lot that just went "poof". From an American point of view, many probably crossed the Atlantic. I believe that one part of the Gun Control Act of 1968 grante...
