Re: ullles fur deutschland dagger- info please?

"Then, if anyone can tell me about that stylized "A" inset in the handle? I found a photograph of a much more ornate knife, different legend, but having in place of the "A", an ss logo. So I presume the "A" denotes some other branch of the military? thanks, Reid&qu...

Re: Whats this?

It reminds me of the "shells" added to the marksman lanyard on different uniforms. I have at least one lanyard that has two shells attahced that were machine turned out of alumiunum. Maybe this is to large for that (hard to judge the size from your photos). They look similar to this withou...

Dr. Wesemann personalized dagger

I've been trying to research a personalized Heer dagger manufactured by Eickhorn (crossguard is personalized to "Dr. Wesemann"). I have tried the Bundesarchiv-Zentralnachweisstelle (Abteigarten 6, Kornelmunster, 52076 Aachen, Nordrhein-Westfalen, Deutschland) twice and each time received m...

Maker's Mark

It would be helpful to know on what award (or dagger?) this mark was found. Is it stamped on raised (cast into the metal)? Are there any other marks associated with this item?

Technischen Nothilfe Badge

I just picked up a TeNo member's badge (stickpin) from a large collection of pins. This badge is described in "One People, One Reich" by J.R. Cone (page 58). According to this reference, "In all 79,230 of the enameled member's badges were given out according to the registration books....

Enameled Badges Book

A useful book for identifying different enameled badges is "One People, One Reich: Enameled Organizational Badges of Germany, 1918-1945" by J.R.Cone (MCN Press, Tulsa Oklahoma). I realize that you may only be looking for straight (non-enameled) "Tinnies", but thought this helped ...

Romell was under extreme stress, as can be imagined. He is not alone in physical ailments among great WWII leaders. George Patton suffered from physical symptoms of stress prior to engagements. Once in action, however, these dynamic leaders came into their own element. (For an easy, interesting read...
