Re: Forum Hero Tales book now for sale!!
Hi Folks! I just wanted to say that, last Tuesday, after picking up my wife from the airport, I came home to find a package for me. Seeing my name, I didn't bother to read the sender's name, since I was expecting other packages on which I had frittered away my money. So, I turned the package on its ...

Pumas in Pz. A.A. 20
Hi,
As many of you know, Pz. A.A. 20 of the 20th Panzer Division, received 16 234/2 (Pumas) for its Stab Kompanie in mid-1944. My question is simple, how many Pumas were in a Platoon (Zug) in that particular Aufklarungs Abteilung?

Re: Need help on history of the german 79th Infantry Division
It might be the dust cover Ibrahim, mine lacks one. The book I have is bound in green and has the Divisional sign, a double cross on the cover, underneath which is the inscription "TAPFER UND TREU". The side inscription is simply "DER WEG DER 79. INFANTERIE-DIVISION 1939-1945". H...

Re: Need help on history of the german 79th Infantry Division
Hi,
Podzun-Verlag put out a small photo book called "Der Weg Der 79. Infanterie Division" It's 222 pages and I have a copy. It is in German, but I will be happy to answer specific questions about the division--if the answer is in the book.

Pz. A.A. 20 in 1944
HI Folk, does anyone have a list of the commanders of the 20th Panzer Division's Panzer Aufklarungs Abteilung in 1944 and 1945?
Any other information on this unit would be vastly appreciated.

Pz. A.A. Munchen
Hi, this formation was attached to the 4th Panzer Division of 2nd Army in early 1945 during the fighting in Western Prussia. I have a knowledge of some of its equipent and the dates of its attachment to 4th Pz. as well as some information on its movements. What I don't understand is: Where did this ...

Re: He-219 Books
Hi Guys, I just received the Kagero book in the mail last night. I haven't had the chance to really examine it, but on first look, it is definitely a different work than the AJ Press book. Either way, it looks like both the A.J. Press book amd the Kagero book are useful supplements to Remp's hardcov...

Distribution of VK601 (Pz.1 Ausf. C)
Hi Folks, I'm aware that this question more pproperly belongs in the "Weapons and Equipment" section. But, as it was a rare vehicle, I thought that more people would view the question here than in that sub-forum. Anyway, the VK601 was a development of the old Pz.1. It entered service as th...

Re: Questions on tanks -- AA machineguns & "special" ammunition
Hi! Well, it's all a matter of range, rate of fire and hitting power. Your average MG lacked those three ingredients to make it a consistent AA gun, the caliber of its bullet was too small--7.92mm. By comparison, the American .50 cal. fired a 12.7 mm. shell and four of them were mounted on halftrack...
