Re: Germans to re-investigate the massacre at Maillé
They well have kicked the door down, but most of the time the women and children present were not shot, tortured, slashed or burnt to death. That was my point From the point of view of the casualties - I would have thought it didn't really matter much to THEM if they were killed on the sport...or s...

Re: Germans to re-investigate the massacre at Maillé
The fact is that most German troops who encountered French partisans didn’t kick down the nearest Farmhouse door and start murdering innocent women and children in such an horrific fashion simply because some of their buddies had been killed. Actually...."most German troops who encountered Fre...

Re: Germans to re-investigate the massacre at Maillé
Paddy, I take on board your points. I am not fully conversant with the Nazi War Crimes bureau and their work (e.g. I don’t know how much the organization costs and who supplies the funding). When I stated that it would be useful to clarify “why” the murders took place, I didn’t just mean what motiva...

Re: Germans to re-investigate the massacre at Maillé
Reading this and a couple of other news items recently - one thing comes to mind... Given that DeGaulle said that the village would stand as an everlasting monument, like Oradour-sur-Glane...how come it got rebuilt so quickly? Anyone know? Phylo At Oradour a much higher percentage of the town’s pop...

Re: Germans to re-investigate the massacre at Maillé
Paddy,
Considering the staggering amounts of money wasted on all sorts of inane and ridiculous things across Europe, the investigation (and hopefully the clarification as to who exactly carried out the brutal 124 murders and why) seems to be a relatively good “waste of money”.
Regards,
André

Germans to re-investigate the massacre at Maillé
Hi Guys, http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1035807/The-Nazis-final-atrocity-surrendering-did-unit-wipe-entire-village.html In an “unprecedented” move, a prosecutor from the Nazi war crimes bureau in Dortmund has arrived in Maillé to re-open the case of the brutal murder of 124 men, women and c...

Re: European Championship 2008
Yes, good to see the Bolshevik Bitch get the shaft from the Latins but true Europeans have to laugh at the title of the championship because the majority of players are far from being European. And then, getting further into it, the "national" teams are about as national as an invasion of...

Re: European Championship 2008
You’ve got to hand it to the Germans, they do it every time. For the past decade or so we keep hearing how the German team is “mediocre” or “the weakest German side in a generation”, yet they keep on qualifying and keep on getting through to the latter stages of most competitions. If you can play th...

Re: European Championship 2008
Another thing I have noticed during this tournament is that a great many England fans are either ambivalent or actually quite supportive of Germany. Usually, whether we are playing or not, the English take an “anybody but Germany” approach to these things, and anti-German sentiment (in a football co...

Re: European Championship 2008
Are you suicidal? This Dutch win that totally unwarranted resulted in the mobsters qualifying. And these scum of the earth don´t hesitate to bribe or otherwise coerce the referee as was well apparent in their game against France: Abidal barely touched the italian and this, a big guy, fell like a 3-...

Re: SS-Division "Nordland"
Hi Hans, I’m pretty sure by late April any surviving remnants of the Nordland Division were fighting a desperate battle in Berlin itself. If memory serves me correctly, in early May (1st/2nd) after Hitler had committed suicide and as the Soviets neared the government buildings, Nordland attempted a ...
