AH: possible plotters against Hitler

OK, maybe you guys remember me, maybe not. But I'm still working on my AH story about a general who overthrows Hitler and 'saves' Germany from the allies. But there's a major snag: I need to know who could support this character. The conditions of the coup are these: 1. Everyone directly involved wi...

Il-Duce has been restored to power, and the king is effectively a prisoner in his own palace. All is not well for Il-Duce by any means because he was out of power for a time and now is TOTALLY beholden Hitler as his benefactor. This does have a side benefit insofar that the OKW now has effective con...

Why hasn't Italy been liberated in this alternative? Are the fascists still in power in Italy? Seems as if a lot has to happen to have the allies fighting in France but not Italy. OK, what happened in my story is that, the invasion of Sicily and Salerno go off as planned, until my (anti?)hero Becke...

Plausible Career Advancement in the Wehrmacht 1934-1945

As you may or may not know I am working on an AH story. Obviously such a story would need to be predicated on reality to a degree. So I'm going to briefly present a few scenarios to see if they are plausible. One thing to keep in mind though is that in the story, women are in combat as well as men t...

Well it seems Qvist ain't never going to help me now, poor bastard I wonder what he did. No, no I don't really care. But that aside, you know, if some one would actually take time and READ what I posted and give me a critique, and not just kick sand in my face, then perhaps I will be enlightened and...

Looking for reenactor German jack boots

I don't need originals, reproductions would be just fine. I love the look of these boots, I always have. I'm looking of durability cause I actually intend to wear these around a bit, mix my wardrobe up a little. What would be a good location or site to get them from. I live in Ohio and wear a male U...

Wolery, you benefit from the problems with the EDIT function. Even if AH was what you just wrote about him, that sort of speech will not be tolerated here. By the way, I will add that the inappropriate word was misspelled. Then I guess I must apologize then. I'm sorry...that I said it.

Unfortunately, back in the day, people simply didn't realize how much of a duche Hitler was. It's like asking why Amedenjad or Hugo Chavez is so popular right now. I don't have a good answer, I wish I did. I guess people are attracted to charismatic evil. :(

That's a terrible story, Andy. Are people usually not trained to swim in the UK, or was this more a liability issue, as in the PCSOs didn't want to get into legal trouble by trying and failing to save the boy? Something needs to change in this picture, and cahnge right now. Poor kid, he paid the pri...

Well, what do you expect? You asked for feedback, you got it. I wish I could have said that you just needed a bit of tweaking here and there, but the simple fact is that your scenarios are of a sort that would make any fairly knowledgeable reader throw away the book on about page 30, if he could ma...

The nicest thing I can say about this is that your alternative scenarios are throughout based on ideas that fail to take reality sufficiently (or at all) into account. I would strongly suggest that if you harbor any serious notions of pursuing this, you should make a very considerable effort at acq...

Women Auxilleries and Non-Whites in the Heer

OK, any one who's read my posts knows I'm trying to write an AH story. However, I would like most of it to be based in fact. 1. I know that there were small african German communities in the Fatherland from 1890. Therefore I have postulated that some of them might have fought in the war in Europe, a...

Yeah, the Kaiser's generals weren't always very smart. I do remember reading somewhere that the Germans did have a penchant for captureing Mark Vs, and there where pictures too, but damned if I could find them when I need them.
