Hi Phylo, The very same point hit me as I posted that. No, I'm saying the internet has changed, and is available to many more people. In my years on Feldgrau, I have seen many new members, some bad, most indifferent, and some great ones, such as yourself. I propose we embrace the masses, hold them t...

And so...

...the sun sets on Feldgrau. I'm sorry Jason, but I do believe you have taken the wrong direction here. I appreciate all the work you have done for us, but surely, now is the time to hand some power to the more sensible members of our group. People may differ in opinion greatly, but I have never had...

An Englishman, an Irishman and a Scotsman have all just completed SAS training, and are told they have one more task to complete before they can join the SAS. An officer goes up to the Englishman, and quietly says "Heres a loaded rifle, your wife and kids are in that building, go kill them.&quo...

I didn't say that you were, but I do believe you have, in the past.

Just because you dislike Sid's views, you take something completely out of context, trying to discredit him, when you didn't even understand the point of his post.

Double standards.

Annelie,

Sid is saying nothing of the sort. He was using that paragraph to illustrate a point, not saying it to be true. Even the author does not think its true, he is again just using it to make a point.

And Sid gets accused of constantly harassing people without substance...

PS - Which raises the point, if by the 11th December the Germans knew they were on the back foot, and would not beat Russia that winter, why declare war on the US? They had no obligation to Japan to declare war on the US, did they? Or was it inevitable, so Germany "got in there first"? Che...

Hi Phylo, From memory (I've just moved, and alot of my books are elsewhere) - Some units got to within roughly 20km's from the centre of Moscow on the late afternoon of the 2nd. The "seeing the sun sparkle on the Kremlin" story is most likely true, as you say, you can see a long way on a c...

Hi Phylo, The German units which entered the suburbs of Moscow did so around the 2nd December, with the Germans then halting the offensive on the 5th, and the Russian counter attack taking place on the 6th. If any German could see the Kremlin on the 8th, he was either a POW, or had some crazy powers...

Hi Paddy, Thanks very much for your confidence in me, it is much appreciated. However, I am probably seen as too much of a hot head myself, ever to be considered as a mod. Although, I would welcome the opportunity. Uli, your comment in the 'Stalin's Killers' thread, that I could " ...ban you if...

Hi Phylo, I've never heard anything regarding Geli about to go public, although I have heard that she maybe didn't kill herself. IMO, the reason's seem to point towards her being unhappy in her relationship with Hitler, backed up by her engaging another man. Surely this points to the reason for the ...

Hi all, Have to agree with Phylo et al . Feldgrau is a tool for researching the German armed forces of WWII, but it's also a community, and I believe the Soldatenheim is a large part of creating that, and maintaining it. I use the forum as a whole, to find things out, maybe thrice a week. However, I...

Purely playing devil's advocate, but...

What advantage would her death have to Hitler? Surely if she was about to go public, he could have ridiculed any suggestions beyond belief, especially at that time?

From what I hear, Geli had no way out, and took the only way out.

PS - the more I think, the less I believe it was a WWII Battleship.

I seem to remember seeing HMS Ark Royal (v5) down there also.
