Coast Watchers

Post by phylo_roadking »

Can anyone direct me to a single-location history - book, website, whatever - of the Pacific Island "Coast Watchers" of WWII?

Only book I have in my entire collection and if I remember correctly, I loved it.

Title: Lonely Vigil-coastwatchers of the Solomons
Authour: Walter Lord
Publisher: The Viking Press

I might be able to pick up a copy at second hand bookstore if interested.

Taa for the info! I have a new link into the local uni library now, so can get hold of things again without too much bother! Once I know they exist, that is!

Damn, I ran downstairs to find the book and stepped on a screw that fell out of a pocket door. Drove the damn thing right in too.
Good book in my mind.

I second Dan's nomination; a good book. Lord also wrote an excellent book about the battle of Midway. Best wishes.
