Darrin: here is a thought, if a German soldier was MIA at East Front in 1942, and he never turn out and claim thier retirment pension after the war, so there were two possibility about their whereabouts: 1. he was killed in 1942 2. he came back after the war and either went missing then or decided ...

If you want to count just combat deaths against combat deaths then you have made a few errors. Including the post Apr 45 german deaths in the rus NKVD camps is a no no this figure is mostly post surrender as well. Also including All 1945 dead and missing from what ever source such as the 4 mil ger p...

Of course the ger lost about 250,000 troops at stalingard which was also about 10% of the army str on the east front. But they recovered at least 40,000 of those troops wia and specialist flown out. Also it wasn´t 90,000 POWs but 90,000 mia some of which may have died before capture. And if you look...
